If you are a seafood lover, this recipe is a must-try!Malwani Prawns Pulao is a traditional Maharashtrian dish that combines the flavors of Malwan cuisine with the goodness of succulent prawns. This delightful one-pot meal is perfect for special occasions or when you want to treat yourself to a hearty and flavorful meal.
To start off, we marinate the prawns with a blend of aromatic spices and let them infuse for a few minutes. Meanwhile, we prepare the fragrant Malwani masala, a spice mix that adds a punch of flavor to the dish. The masala is made with a combination of coriander seeds, cumin seeds, black peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon, and other spices, all ground to perfection.
Next, we heat some oil and sauté onions, ginger, and garlic until they turn golden brown and release their tantalizing aroma. To this, we add the marinated prawns and cook them until they are tender and cooked through. The prawns absorb all the flavors from the spices, creating a harmonious blend of tastes.
Now, it's time to add the star ingredient - fragrant basmati rice. We mix the rice with the prawns and spices, ensuring that each grain is coated with the luscious flavors. To enhance the taste, we also add some coconut milk, which lends a creamy texture and a hint of sweetness.
To cook the pulao, we cover the pot and let the rice simmer gently until it is perfectly cooked and fluffy. The aroma that fills the kitchen is simply irresistible! Finally, we garnish the Malwani Prawns Pulao with fresh coriander leaves and serve it hot.
